HKUST Big Data and AI Day 2018
Organized by the HKUST Big Data Institute (BDI), HKUST Big Data and AI Day is the institute’s annual signature event aims to bring great minds from academia and industry from Hong Kong, the region, as well as other parts of the world to share and exchange the latest development of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. It also serves as a platform to facilitate innovative research and collaboration. All higher education and industry leaders, experts, researchers, as well as students are welcome to attend.
At the event, HKUST BDI will announce our partnership with NAVER/LINE and introduce our newly established research laboratory of “HKUST-NAVER/LINE AI Laboratory”. This joint lab aims to develop a comprehensive set of research and talent-development programs to pursue cutting-edge research for advancement of AI technology and enrich the learning experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Leveraging on the existing strength and resources of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the Big Data Institute (BDI) was established upon the needs from both industry and society for a new model for managing multi-disciplinary focal points for Big Data research, by coordinating faculty’s research on Big Data and Data Science at HKUST. BDI will provide a strong and highly visible leadership role in Big Data and Data Science research in Hong Kong and the world.
